実世界知能の理論とシステム
実世界と相互作用しつつ知的に振舞うためには，複雑・不確実・膨大な情報の中から意味のある構造を認識し，学習し，駆使することが決め手となります．そのための理論と応用，ソフトウェアとハードウェアについて研究を進めておられます。
略歴 1991年東京大学大学院工学系研究科修了，工学博士，同年電子技術総合研究所研究員，1995年同主任研究官， 1996年～97年米国マサチューセッツ工科大学人工知能研究所客員研究員，2001年東京大学助教授，2005年同教授。身体性に基づく認知の創発と発達，模倣の科学，ヒューマノイドロボットなどの研究に取り組んでいる。研究論文等約450篇，編著書19篇。日本ロボット学会研究奨励賞，同論文賞，佐藤記念知能ロボット研究奨励賞，IJCAI Outstanding Paper Award，ゴールドメダル「東京テクノ・フォーラム21賞」等受賞。日本学術会議連携会員。日本ロボット学会，人工知能学会，情報処理学会，IEEE, 日本赤ちゃん学会などの会員。

Dr Stephen Bax is a Reader at the CRELLA Research centre, University of Bedfordshire, United Kingdom which is one of the leading international centres for
research into Language Assessment and Evaluation. He specialises in the use of technology in language teaching, testing and learning, particularly in the area of 'normalisation', namely how technologies come to be most effective in daily life and in language education. He also researches in the areas of discourse and genre, sociolinguistics and teacher education. His book 'Discourse and Genre' is due to be published in the summer of 2010.
